Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little traveler! I bought this little work horse a month ago as a travel sewing machine and it runs great. It is a great beginner sewing machine but for the avid sewist who doesn't want to pack up the heavy machine this is a wonderful alternative. I sew for charity and this packs up great in a small tote bag that isn't heavy to carry around. The only drawbacks are the lack of built in light and it does get pretty noisy when running, but other then that I would highly recommend this machine. I already have been asked where I got mine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for traveling I needed a sewing machine I could take to class and this model is perfect! I get the quality of a full size Janome machine but in a light-weight model. It sews straight tight stitches, has all the features I need and even a top drop in bobbin. Everyone in class loves it and asks where I got it. I love using it and I even bought a "stick up" light for it that sticks to the machine itself. Glad I got it and will use for a long time. Also like it for sewing cuffs!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing machine for the price!! I bought this for my nieces and was impressed by how easily and well it worked. Only one speed but that's OK! Most sewing is straight stitches and zig zag anyways (at least what I sew!) so I think it's a great machine for beginners. And even though it's inexpensive and light, it doesn't feel cheap. It now lives with my nieces and I'm not sure how often they'll use it but am looking forward to doing more sewing with them when I visit next!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from small but reliable I am so happy with this machine. It is simple but that is exactly what I needed to learn the basics of using a sewing machine. This is an excellent learning tool and handles my mistakes without tearing up. It is very light weight. The only down side is no light but a table lamp behind it works great. The one speed allows you to be able to stich straight and learn the mechanics and feel of the machine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for beginners or kids! I bought this for my 7 year old daughter. She could thread it, wind the bobbin, and sew a straight stitch all within the first hour! It's perfect for learning!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beginner Seamstress Was looking for a beginner sewing machine to teach my Granddaughter on. This machine was the perfect choice. She loves it. It is just her size and sews well for the price. I would buy another one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little machine! I bought this for traveling as a lightweight alternative to my heavy 20 year old Singer, but this has become my go-to machine for most projects. It sews very well, and although my Singer has more stitches and options, this little dynamo does what it does like a pro. Most projects call for straight or zig-zag stitches; anything else can be done on a bigger machine. I was concerned about these lightweight, small machines, that it wouldn't hold up. But this one is NOT a toy. I would highly recommend it for new sewists, including children, as well as experienced sewists. Think of it... If you have a quick hem to sew, would you rather pull out a lightweight machine that's easy to set up and take down, or your heavy old machine. I've found that I can set up, sew a quick project, and put away in the time it takes to set up my old Singer!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for my 9 yr old g'daughter This is a really nice small machine, perfect for learning to sew. It could be used for years, without ever having to upgrade. I bought it for my g'daughter & she was able to fill the bobbin & thread the machine within minutes..very simple. It has straight, zigzag & backward settings. I was impressed.
